The Spanish IRS issued its official report on the transfer of Neymar to FC Barcelona. The figures are formal: Neymar cost more than Cristiano Ronaldo.
While Melty’s writing regularly questioned the value of the transfer of Neymar to FC Barcelona-100 million euros had even been mentioned at the time, the official response finally seems to have arrived. Seized by the administrative Court of Catalonia, the Spanish tax authorities had to conduct an in-depth investigation into the modalities of the arrival of Neymar in La Liga in the summer of 2013. This survey, as revealed by Radio Catalunya, allowed to highlight the price spent by FC Barcelona for Neymar: 94.8 million euros! With this record amount for Barca, the transfer of Neymar is thus higher than those of Cristiano Ronaldo (94 million euros, from Manchester United to Real Madrid in 2009) or Gareth Bale (91 million euros, from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2013).
Since then, despite very good performances in club and selection in recent times, the coast of Neymar would have largely declined (see Messi, Ronaldo, Hazard, Neymar: Transfers, the most expensive players of the mercato). It should be noted that, on Monday morning, the Spanish public prosecutor requested a reference to the Tribunal for FC Barcelona and its former president, Sandro Rosell, to clarify the tax offences alleged during the transfer of the said Neymar. Josep Maria Bartomeu, the current president of FC Barcelona, could also be put under review in this case. What is your feeling about the alleged fraudulent transfer of Neymar to FC Barcelona?
